Druva CTO Stephen Manley on AI’s Role in Modern Data Security
Artificial intelligence is transforming how IT and security teams collaborate to address data management and cyberthreats. Historically, these teams operated in silos, creating gaps in knowledge and response. Generative AI bridges this gap through natural language interfaces, enabling better communication and understanding between departments, said Stephen Manley, chief technology officer at Druva.

AI strengthens data security, Manley said. Druva’s cloud-native SaaS solutions address three primary challenges: adapting to rapidly evolving threats, managing system maintenance and enabling scalable recovery from cyber events. Unlike traditional models, SaaS provides continuous monitoring, simplifies patching and provides on-demand scalability during critical incidents, he said.
“How do we keep up with things? How do I keep my environment healthy? Because there’s so many systems to patch, and there’s so many dependencies,” he said. “When a cyber event hits, I’m going to want to unleash the full force, as much compute power, as much storage power as I can in that moment because I want to get my business up and running.”
