To combat AI threats in 2025, security organizations are set to enter the second phase of AI innovation in security by deploying semi-autonomous operations such as alert parsing, creation of high-priority item lists and risk remediation, said Jamie Collier, senior threat intelligence advisor at Mandiant.
“Every vendor is going to talk about the dangers of AI, so with that there is quite a lot of hype and speculation, and we have got to be really careful,” Collier said. “But what we can say is that AI will play a role in workflow augmentation especially around phishing and in safe fraud use cases.”
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Collier also discussed:
- Nation-state threats to cloud infrastructure;
- Risks to hybrid cloud environments from compromised identities and how hackers use them to breach cloud infrastructure;
- Pain points for cloud security in 2025 and what organizations should do differently to secure their cloud environment.
At Mandiant, Collier is focused on helping organizations in the EMEA region identify threat landscapes and build threat intelligence capabilities. He previously served as cyber threat intelligence team lead at Digital Shadows. He is an associate fellow at the Royal United Services Institute.
