Managed Security Service Provider (MSSP)
Why Cynomi’s Embrace of AI-Driven Security Tools Will Drive MSP and MSSP Efficiency
Managed service providers are constantly looking for ways to extend innovative services to their customers. Third-party assessments, advanced AI functionality and additional integrations will help these MSPs deliver more comprehensive cybersecurity services, said Cynomi co-founder and CEO David Primor.

The Tel Aviv, Israel-based startup is using AI to correlate identified cybersecurity gaps with specific services the MSP offers while standardizing service delivery and identifying upsell opportunities. He said Cynomi helps MSPs expand their cybersecurity offerings without proportionally increasing staffing levels due to a platform that supports multiple virtual CISOs concurrently and automating complex tasks via AI.
“The art of helping MSPs and MSSPs is completely different, because we want to support different and several seesaws at the same time, and to help them to provide those services at scale,” Primor said. “The ability for MSPs to provide virtual CISO services to 100 customers, to 200 customers, to 1,000 customers at the same time, with very limited professional people, is, I think, a different approach.”
In this video interview with Information Security Media Group, Primor also discussed:
- Standardizing service delivery across multiple customers;
- How to create an insights layer above existing vendor tools;
- Cyber insurance and third-party assessment pressures.
A retired lieutenant colonel in the Israel Defense Forces’ Unit 8200, and previously technology director of Israel’s cyber authority, Primor spent decades dealing with state-level cyberthreats. He leads the Cynomi team, and runs the occasional marathon in his free time. Primor holds a bachelor’s of science in electrical engineering from Technion, Israel and completed his doctorate degree at CERN.
