Identity Experts Adam Preis and Troy Leach
In the latest “Proof of Concept,” Adam Preis, director of product and solution marketing at Ping Identity, and Troy Leach, chief strategy officer at Cloud Security Alliance, joined editors at Information Security Media Group to discuss how AI agents and machine identities are redefining identity security. As enterprises deploy AI-powered systems, legacy identity frameworks struggle to keep up, leaving gaps in visibility, control and accountability.

“We’re moving from who you are to what is acting on your behalf,” warned Leach. “And we’re doing it without the policies and frameworks to govern that shift.”
Preis said that synthetic hires and autonomous agents can already bypass outdated controls. “Even before we talk about AI, we’ve got to fix what’s not right. Static MFA won’t protect us anymore – we need continuous authentication and adaptive access.”
Leach and Preis urged organizations to treat machine identities as both critical actors and serious risk vectors and offered a new blueprint for identity that can support an AI-driven enterprise.
Anna Delaney, director, productions; Adam Preis, director, product and solution marketing, Ping Identity; Tom Field, vice president, editorial; and, Troy Leach, chief strategy officer, Cloud Security Alliance also discuss:
- How dynamic and continuous MFA improves user experience and security;
- The emerging risks of machine identities and AI agent over-permissioning;
- Why delegated access and dynamic authorization must become standard practice.
